Antidotum Airshow, Leszno
During my visit to Leszno last year, the Antidotum Air Show became my favorite. They even outshone the most famed Polish shows in Radom! Why? Firstly, in Leszno, you can easily get closer to the runway, which allows for better photography. Secondly, part of the Leszno airshows includes unique nighttime displays, a rarity in Europe. Thirdly, in Leszno there are no restrictions on bringing your own water. When will Radom realize that a bottle of water in a backpack isn’t an explosive device? And fourthly, in Leszno everything is closer, including Toi Toi restrooms and beer stands ;)
Antidotum 2024, just like the previous event in 2023, will remain memorable. Even the sudden rain that shortened the event by a few hours and prevented the start of the nighttime segment didn’t change my opinion. Leszno surprised us again with its program. Over the years, I’ve attended many similar events, but it was only at Antidotum 2024 that I captured photos of a helicopter towing a glider, girls walking on the wings of a biplane in flight, and the Alenia Aermacchi T-346A jet aircraft. What will Leszno have in store for us in 2025?
Below, I’ve included several dozen of the coolest photos I’ve taken. You’ll see the following planes:
* SP-ZUF and SP-ZWW; firefighting aircrafts PZL M18 Dromader
* D-FCOR; Chance Vought F4U-5NL Corsair
* N11FC; performing a barrel roll Bell AH-1F Cobra helicopter
* VH-YXN; Extra 300SC piloted by Aarron Deliu
* PZL-130 Orlik
* N541HA; Zivko Edge 540

* Bölkow Bo 105; a helicopter capable of performing loops and rolls (!)

* G-JPIT; Pitts S-2S Special; biplane with a modification in the form of added two jet engines (!)

Just remember to buy tickets in advance because Antidotum always sells out!
PS: Yes, despite the arguments listed at the beginning of this post, I still like the Radom airshows and regret that they happen only once every few years…
